Banks/shadow – similar thing with our local Key Bank branch. manager left and two tellers, now a temp manager/teller and one other teller. rumor is that the regional bureaucracy is so bad no one wants the manager job (at the pay) and the pay must be pretty poor that they haven't filled new teller positions (I expect only offering part time, and little to no benefits, but admit I have not inquired directly myself).
