    U.S. trade rep to try to break trade stalemate with Japan

    Yesterday, 02:44 AM ET

    • U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman is due to travel to Japan tomorrow to try to persuade the country to increase access for U.S. farm groups and car companies.
    • Froman believes that Japan lowering its trade barriers would open the way for a deal on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a 12-nation trade pact.
    • Froman’s trip comes ahead of a visit by President Obama later this month.
