Neonode Inc., (Nasdaq: NEON), the optical-touch technology licensing company, announced today, that on August 19 the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued patent #8,812,993 (‘993) for sweep gestures.
The ‘993 patent has 136 patent citations and 44 non-patent citations, and covers transitioning a touch screen device from a tap-absent state, wherein tap-activatable icons are absent, to a tap-present state, wherein tap-activatable icons are present, in response to a touch-and-glide gesture.
This patent expands Neonode’s family of sweep gesture patents, including US Patent Nos. 8,095,879 and 8,650,510. Neonode’s sweep gesture patents have priority dating back to 2002.
