Futures off a bit but bouncing off 17,000, 1,987.5, 4,060 and ,1,155 so far. /YM is a good long at 17,000 and /TF at 1,155 with tight stops below and as long as the other hold.
Hang Seng fell 500 points (2%) – essentially rejected at 25,000 for the moment. The run was from 20,000 last year but good consolidation on a pullback to 21,000 this year means we can use the 20% run from 21,000 to 25,200 and expect a 20% retrace (840) to 24,360 (weak) and 23,520 (strong) and there was good consolidation around 23,500 on the way up so it looks like the Bots are firmly in control of that index.
The Nikkei, on the other hand, made a fresh high and tested 15,800 again with /NKD hitting 15,845 (now 15,825) on no particular move in the Dollar (84.30) but the Yen made a new low at 106.78 as the Euro popped back to $1.295. It looks to me as if the BOJ and the Swiss were buying Euros. Shanghai was down 0.35%, India down 0.66% and Singapore down 0.13% for the day.
I definitely like /NKD short below 15,800 – especially if our indexes are heading down.
UK hit 6,800 and bounced there – down 0.16%. DAX is down 0.4%, CAC down 0.3%, Italy down 0.4% and Spain down 0.9%.
Oil $92.81, gold $1,254.70, silver $19.07, copper $3.09, Nat gas $3.96 and gasoline $2.55.
AAPL has settled in just over $98 in overnight trading.
