FBR Senior Analyst Says Microsoft Takeover Of Nance Is 'Unlikely'

Speaking exclusively to Benzinga, FBR Capital Markets Managing Director and Senior Analyst Daniel Ives said given that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ: MSFT) has a laser focus on the cloud, he doesn’t see takeover of Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN) as likely.

If that was part of Nuance’s strategic plan, Ives believes the company — or at least pieces of it — would be a better fit for Samsung or a private equity player.

“Right now, Nuance — it’s investors — want to see good execution without the speed bumps seen of late,” according to Ives.
