Geeknet Inc (NASDAQ: GKNT) shares climbed 119.54 percent to $17.30 after the company agreed to be acquired by Hot Topic for $17.50 per share.

Prima Biomed Ltd. (NASDAQ: PBMD) shares rose 19.37 percent to $3.76. Prima BioMed reported that the CVac data has shown a clear trend for overall survival benefit in second remission ovarian cancer in Phase II study.

IntelliPharmaCeutics Intl Inc (USA) (NASDAQ: IPCI) shares gained 16.45 percent to $3.61 as the FDA granted Fast Track designation for Rexista Oxycodone XR incorporating PODRAS technology.

LivePerson, Inc. (NASDAQ: LPSN) shares jumped 13.65 percent to $10.16 on a report from Calcalist that it is in talks with Nice-Systems Ltd (ADR) (NASDAQ: NICE) to be acquired for $600 million to $650 million.

McDermott International (NYSE: MDR) shares gained 9.21 percent to $5.10 after the company reported that it has been awarded a project for twelve jackets offshore Saudi Arabia.

Time Warner Cable Inc (NYSE: TWC) shares rose 4.74 percent to $179.29 after the company agreed to be acquired by Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR) for $195.71 per share.

Cerulean Pharma Inc (NASDAQ: CERU) shares gained 4.44 percent to $6.35 following the announcement of the FDA orphan designation of ovarian cancer treatment.
