NATO Backs Turkey’s Version Of Events, Calls For “Calm & De-Escalation”

Following the meeting of the North Atlantic Council requested by Turkey – to explain its actions – NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will give a statement to the press, no doubt urging, just as Obama and Hollande just did, no escalation between the two nations.

  • *U.S., NATO OFFICIALS SAY RUSSIAN JET WAS IN TURKISH AIRSPACE:AP
  • *HOLLANDE: MUST PREVENT ANY ESCALATION BETWEEN RUSSIA, TURKEY
  • *OBAMA: RUSSIANS, TURKS MUST TALK TO EACH OTHER, NOT ESCALATE
