WebMD Spiking as it Appears on Yahoo’s Wish-List

Shares of WebMD (NASDAQ: WBMD) just spiked higher on reports that Yahoo! (NASDAQ: YHOO) is looking into purchasing the Weather Channel and WebMD.

Citing sources, the reports say that Yahoo’s purchase would come as an asset swap with Alibaba and SoftBank.

After the news broke, shares of WebMD spiked higher on heavy volume. It moved from about $37.85 to $40.24; a jump of about 6%.

Currently, shares of WebMD are trading about 2% higher on Thursday’s trading session, at $38.78
