Poor health habits/Phil – that's a well-known problem in clinical medicine. Most docs I know find people with type 2 diabetes very difficult – they want to take a pill, not change habits. I saw a study a while back about anti-lock brakes on cars. Many safety experts expected a big effect from those, reduction in crashes and such, but it didn't materialize, because people started driving worse, expecting the anti-lock brakes to take care of them.
