AAPL/DC – Everyone likes to see the big guy fail.  I remember when IBM rolled out the PC Jr and they got trashed for it.  Desktop PCs – how ridiculous.

Oil/Bruce – Very tricky ahead of inventories but a very likely short on any bump before or after as $106.50 is still the right max (given current Syria news, etc.) and I'll be very surprised if they hold it.

DELL/Shadow – He lost that fight ages ago.  Only finally giving up.

    Vegas/Savi – Thanks.

/NQ/STP, Bruce – Below our target 3,165 now.  Same as oil, we can get back in below each ,005 line.

By the way, speaking of Vegas – THIS is why being able to trade Futures is so valuable.  The margin on the /NQs is $2,400 per contract and my call was to take 10 of them this morning AFTER we saw AAPL fall hard BECAUSE we KNOW that it will drag the Nasdaq down.  That's why I was able to make a SUPER-CONFIDENT call to short 10 of the Nasdaq Futures (/NQ) for the STP to offset our AAPL longs.

Even if you didn't have AAPL longs – what an easy way to make money.  The same thing happens when we have pre or post-market news about a Dow component moving – we can't trade the stock, we can't trade DIA or adjust our own positions but we CAN trade the Futures.  It's a very valuable tool to have in your portfolio belt and it's what we're going to be showing you in Las Vegas – as well as our usual nonsense, of course…

MSFT/Arivera – Well, at least he's a guy who turned around a disaster but it is like hiring Michael Jordan to play baseball.  Oh wait, they did that…

Hype/StJ – That's true, Jobs was a master and now the apprentices are trying to copy and falling short.  There's some truth in that parody though – the phone is great and there's not much you can do to improve it other than mess around with colors, sizes and pricing.  Look at the IPod, they stopped innovating that a decade ago but it still sells very well.  It's just a consumer device now, like a good toaster.

Meanwhile, the change in PRICE of AAPL does not affect the VALUE of AAPL.  I'm baffled as to how their recent announcements will cause them to earn less than $40 a share this year for a p/e of 12.5, not including their $150 per share of CASH!

    /NQ, Nicha – My call was to short 10 of them and 10 x $200 = $2,000.

NFLX getting a little bit real.

STP – Damn, that thing is cursed!

    CMG $420!

Incremental/StJ – What company delivers massive innovation every year?  It's the expectations that are unrealistic, not AAPL's strategy.

    Interesting Shadow, thanks.

BBY/Scott – Joly settling divorce with his wife and Schulze announced he would reduce stake to fund a family foundation earlier this year.

AAPL/Japar -Butterflies are for stocks that you DON'T expect to be volatile.  Yes, you win only if they pin, the adjustments are dangerous and chew up margin so you have to be very careful.  It's a damned good thing you didn't do a short spread!

    Screwed/StJ – Horrifying.

AAPL/Taihu – In the interest of my sanity, can you please just tell me what positions you do have?

    And what DC said!
