Would you buy homeowners insurance from Amazon?

Yes you would. So would I.
I bought my homeowners insurance from some AXA guy that I’ve never spoken to again about it. Over the years, we’ve added some jewelry and stuff to the policy but other than that, it’s just kind of a thing that sits out there. We don’t comparison shop it, we don’t think about it.
The pricing of our premiums is driven by all sorts of factors. Amazon may have a way to lower the pricing of these premiums by monitoring a home for things like fire and theft risk using smart devices. Knowing what’s going on inside the homes will let them be smarter about what they should be charging. It’s got to be better than just some random guesses being made by a P&C.
Amazon is said to be considering this line of business. I wouldn’t be surprised if they follow through and do it.
