When Juggling Your MBA with Life Isn’t Going Well: The Solutions You Need

By Brendan Byrne. Originally published at ValueWalk.

Studying for an MBA can be hard work, especially if you’re trying to juggle it around working full-time, raising a young family, or both. You might be working every waking hour to ensure that your bills are paid on time and food is put on the table, trying to snatch a moment with your kids, while working on papers, essays, and exam revision at the same time. It’s a lot to contend with, and unsurprisingly, students who struggle often end up feeling burned out and overwhelmed.

The good news is that you can get back on track! There’s no need to defer your year or throw the towel in. Use these strategies to help you get back in control of your workload and back on the path to success with your MBA.

Get a Timetable

Do you often find yourself juggling things as they arrive, with little to no advance planning? If you’re falling over yourself trying to remember where you’re meant to be or what you’re meant to do, or lying awake at night stressing because you can’t remember if your essay deadline was tomorrow or the next day and you haven’t started it yet, you’re going to burn yourself out real quick.

The solution: sit down armed with a timetable or diary. Make a note of everything that you need to do, and schedule in set times to study for certain things. Put reminders in your phone if you find them useful. Get a calendar and highlight each day you have a deadline due.

Switch to Online Classes

Are you running from class to work, back to class again, back home, and then back to class? Not only can juggling on-campus classes with full-time work and everything else quickly become tiring, it can also be expensive. You’ll need to spend money on getting there, and if you’ve got a 9am class, you can’t be at work at the same time, so you need to cut your hours down.

The solution: switch to online classes. These will give you the freedom to study from home at your own time. You can choose from a completely online program or speak to your school about taking a hybrid course where some classes are online, and others are on campus. Many programs have the option to switch to all or some online classes at any point.

Get Some Help

Have you got a backlog of essays to write that were due tomorrow? A review to submit in a few hours and you can’t even remember what it’s meant to be about? Exams coming up that you’re barely prepared for? And on top of it all, you don’t even know where to start, and you need to do your eight-hour shift at work before you can even think about getting started anyway.

The solution: get some help! A company like EssaysWriting offers a professional essay writing service that can help take some of the pressure off. Their team of expert writers will be by your side to help you get everything written and submitted. And don’t be afraid to speak to your college; they can offer extra time if you need it.

Don’t struggle to juggle your MBA with everything else; keep these tips in mind and get back on top.
