Tesla CEO Elon Musk says he has fully recovered from COVID. He tested positive for the coronavirus last week. He reported that he had taken multiple tests and received different results but believed that he probably had a moderate case of COVID. More reliable PCR tests later confirmed the diagnosis.

Elon Musk recovers from COVID

Elon Musk said on Twitter that his COVID symptoms resembled that of a “minor cold, which is no surprise, since a coronavirus is a type of cold.” When asked on Wednesday whether he still had a mild fever or cold or if he had fully recovered, he responded by saying “fully,” apparently meaning that he had fully recovered.

Also on Twitter, Musk said earlier this week that he was close to feeling 100% and that if he took Dayquil, he was definitely at 100%. He added that this was “one of the mildest cold/flu experiences” he had ever had.

Despite Musk’s brief illness, his companies Tesla and SpaceX have continued to move forward. S&P announced that it will add Tesla to the S&P 500 Index starting in late December. CleanTechnica noted that SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft had a successful launch, carrying four astronauts up to the International Space Station.

Musk’s net worth soars

This has also been a big week for Elon Musk as he passed Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to become the fourth richest person in the world, according to Forbes. The news that Tesla stock will be added to the S&P sent it surging, boosting Musk’s wealth in the process. The shares jumped from about $400 to about $500 after three days of trading, adding about $8.3 billion to his net worth to bring it to about $105.4 billion. For those who are keeping track, Zuckerberg’s net worth is about $100.6 billion.

Elon Musk has seen his wealth grow at a rapid clip this year as Tesla stock has skyrocketed, climbing more than 460% year to date. The Tesla CEO’s net worth has climbed by almost $76 billion since Forbes published its most recent World’s Billionaires list on March 18 when his net worth was $24.6 billion.

Among Musk’s holdings are a 21% stake in Tesla. SpaceX was also valued at $46 billion as of August.
