Global Payments Inc (NYSE: GPN) reported a 21% rise in its fiscal third-quarter net income.
Global Payments’ quarterly earnings surged to $57.9 million, or $0.73 per share, versus $47.8 million, or $0.59 per share, in the year-ago period. Its adjusted earnings came in at $0.83 per share. Revenue climbed to $533.5 million from $456.4 million. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $0.84 per share on revenue of $529.34 million.
Global Payments affirmed its fiscal 2012 profit of $3.10 to $3.18 per share, and an adjusted profit of $3.50 to $3.58 per share. It projects revenue of $2.15 billion to $2.2 billion. However, analysts were expecting a profit of $3.24 per share on revenue of $2.19 billion.
Global Payments shares closed at $47.50 on Friday.
