Apple has reportedly inked a deal to build a massive second spaceship-like campus in Silicon Valley.
The 18-acre Central & Wolfe campus—so named because of the roads that border it in Sunnyvale—contains 770,000 square feet of potential office space. Though the deal has not been confirmed, the Silicon Valley Business Journal reports the transaction has been completed. It’s likely Apple has leased, not purchased, the property, and it’s still unclear when construction will begin.
Daimler tests self-driving truck on German highway (Phys)
German automaker Daimler said it trialled a self-driving truck under real traffic conditions for the first time Friday, on a motorway in southern Germany.
The truck has smart systems including radars, cameras and active speed regulators and works without a human driver—although one has to be in the driver's seat and take the wheel if necessary.

Scientists excavated a nearly complete mammoth skeleton in Michigan, discovered by a soybean farmer on his land.
According to the Washington Post, farmer James Bristle of Chelsea, Michigan, was digging in his soybean field when he thought he discovered a completely buried fence post. That turned out to be one of the mammoth's ribs.
U.S. Airstrike Kills Aid Group Workers in Afghanistan Hospital (Bloomberg)
U.S. forces carrying out airstrikes in support of Afghan troops fighting the Taliban apparently struck a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders in the city of Kunduz, killing at least nine people, all aid workers, and wounding dozens.
