Top Trades for Tue, 01 Dec 2015 11:32 – TGT

I think TGT is interesting down here for a long-term play.

They had on-line system outages yesterday but it was due to high traffic - not really a bad thing.

Heavy Cyber Monday traffic takes down Target.com and slows PayPal

At $72.60 they are down to $44.7Bn in market cap on about $3Bn in profits (but Q1 they took a huge hit on discontinued operations so their p/e looks high) and probably dropping $4.50 a share to the bottom line for a real p/e more like 10 - so priced very low for a retailer that's not actually in trouble.

We like to pick up $4,000 a month selling puts in the LTP so let's sell 5 of the TGT 2018 $67.50 puts for $8.60 ($4,300) and that nets us into 500 at $58.90, which is 19% off the current price.  We could have done 10 of the short $55 puts for $4.20 and the net would be 10% lower but the obligation would be 2x - so not a good trade-off.
