Hah this is going to bring out ALL the conspiracy theorists – a 7.8% unemployment rate RIGHT BEFORE THE ELECTION.  So Obama can now be elected with a sub 8% unemployment rate (i.e. no president has been elected with a 8%+ unemployment rate blah blah).  The reason for this was due to a one time adjustment in the household survey by 873,000.  (There are 2 surveys each month, one for the rate and one for the headline figure so this adjustment happened in the rate)

Previous 2 months upgraded by 86,000 jobs.

Participation rate up tiny to 63.6% vs 63.5%.

U-16 = 14.7%

Average workweek up 0.1 hrs to 34.5; average hourly earnings up 7 cents to $23.58.
