Faber: The Euro Has More To Fall, S&P Could Fall 20%

Marc Faber appeared on Bloomberg today to talk stocks and currencies. Not surprisingly, he’s negative on US equities, and though he thinks the euro could rebound in the short-term (because it’s so oversold) he says there’s nothing good about the currency and that it could fall a lot further.

As John Tamny so eloquently described the other day, the electorate is only as happy as the value of the dollars in their pockets.  Many Presidents have fallen by the wayside as they attempt to devalue their way to prosperity.  It never works.  Thus far, Obama is learning this lesson the hard way as the dollar crumbles and his approval rating follows.  Shorting his approval rating was the no brainer trade of the year.  If only I could have found a buyer….

Tensions between India and Pakistan continue to rise, with the war of words rumbling on between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

Two Pakistani soldiers lost their lives in an episode of cross-border firing in Kashmir on Thursday, action which India claims were “surgical strikes.” However Pakistan has since “completely rejected” India’s claims, according to Reuters.

Deutsche banks shares are plunging again in morning European tradings. It’s 4:13 AM in Chicago, but Germany is seven hours ahead making it 11:13 AM in Germany.

Deutsche Bank shares today set yet another record low in price. The Telegraph reports Deutsche Bank rout deepens: Shares plunge below €10 for first time ever.
