I have found this year’s blockbuster product and perfect Holiday Gift. It is a Laptop Steering Wheel Desk and is on sale right now at Amazon for $24.95 (it used to be offered for 18.75 but because of high demand the price went up). I am thinking of getting it for some of the individuals that have been important in shaping my life for the last year. It’s the least that I think I can do for these people. I have a policy of not endorsing or mentioning specific products but the Laptop Steering Wheel Desk is a rule breaking product that requires a special mention.
From what I can tell the Laptop Steering Wheel Desk is such a big seller because of its multiple uses and the life changing impact that it has on its users.

Of course, the desk has some limitations and I have tried to pick some of the 350+ customer reviews that describe some of the products strong points as well as a few weaknesses.

Wow is this thing great! I use it as a “mini-bar” when the friends and I go out to the bars. I can quickly fix multiple shots of tequila for myself and the friends as we drive from one bar to the next. We also discovered that if you place a pillow on top of it and turn on the cruise control you can catch quick naps on the interstate. If you swerve to the left or right the rumble strips on the road wake you up in plenty of time before you get into trouble. I can now take longer trips without being tired!
Also, i am now dating a midget and she fits nicely on the steering wheel desk which allows us to experiment sexually while driving. This thing is like WD-40 or duct tape, it is a million and one uses!

I am an OB-GYN and this has helped me take my practice mobile. It’s the perfect height for my patients to sit on so I can examine them while I drive. I highly recommend!!!!
A big plus is it being an additional seat for your toddlers, just in case you need room for office supplies.
Stirrups needed!!!
Maybe some ridges in the plastic, we’ve had lots of sliders!

Believe it or not, I’m typing this review on my laptop steering wheel desk! As a school bus driver I was never be able to check my email and update facebook while at work. Now I am networking more than ever! I am recommending this product to the school board later this month.

I read some 4 and 5 star reviews by those who used this device successfully to change a baby while driving. On that basis, I bought one. I put my baby on it and drove for over an hour. It did not change. Same baby. I am glad it worked for some people but I will be returning mine. (The steering wheel desk.)
Product slaps you across the face when making turns, November 10, 2009
I received this product from my ex-wife during our attempt at a family reunion Christmas. She knew how much I like to eat while driving (fat guy here … guilty as charged!) and joked it would help me keep the stains off my pants. Well imagine my surprise when I made a left hand turn and not only spilled my plate of ham, but I now have a nasty red mark on my face from being slapped in the head by the desk which turns along with the steering wheel. I wrote a letter to the company and they did offer me a new ham. The doctors say the black and blue marks will clear up as soon as I dismantle the desk.

I don’t know how I’ve managed without this before. I used to drive while placing the laptop on the passenger seat, but it makes it difficult to spot police because you’re always looking to the side to see the laptop. It was also difficult when I had a passenger travel with me – I’d put the laptop on their lap but it became a little awkward, especially when typing.
Not anymore! Now I can use the laptop and still spot police on the side of the road, out of the corner of my eye. If you have an ultra portable you could even put your lunch on the tray. Other reviewers commented that it may get messy – not true! This thing cleans super easy, you could even do it while driving.
I did take off two stars because it does have some drawbacks:
1. Not enough color choices. So the color match with my black thinkpad is really off, people constantly stare at me when I’m driving and I think that’s the reason.
2. It could have come with a power extension for my shaver, I could shave on the way to work while the laptop is busy downloading.
3. kind of difficult to take a quick nap when stuck in traffic. I can rest my head on it but it’s not cushy enough for me to feel comfortable.
Other than that, great product – definitely get it!!

Wow, this really is an incredible time saver!
All the things I can get done while driving – a perfect way to use otherwise wasted time!
However – there is one concern I have, and it relates to safety. And not just anyone’s safety, but our children’s safety.
I was changing my infant son Mickey the other day, and it occurred to me that if there was an accident, the airbag from the steering wheel could potentially injure the child.
Is there any way to turn the drivers airbag off while using the desk as a child changing table? I just don’t think it would be safe otherwise.
Clearly, this is an amazing product that is a gift that keeps on giving for a long time. What can I say, the Laptop Steering Wheel Desk gets 5 stars (*****) from me as a holiday gift that won’t be easily forgotten.
