Benzinga’s M&A Chatter for Thursday August 30, 2012

Japan’s Sharp Corp. (OTC: SHCAY) has not yet begun producing LCD screen’s for Apple’s (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPhone 5 in mass quantities, according to sources reported by the Wall Street Journal. Manufacturing difficulties are reported to be the problem.

Shipments of the screens was scheduled to begin at the end of August. There is no word on when the shipments will commence. Japan Display Inc. and South Korea’s LG Display Co. also produce screens for the iPhone and have reportedly begun deliveries to Apple.
