FaceBook Changes “Privacy” Features Once More

and for anyone unsure – because the lines between reality and surreality are ever-blurring – this is humor (h/t @JoshZumbrun).

What isn't, however, humor is the following updated statement from the company, just released:

  • FACEBOOK: DON'T WORK DIRECTLY W/NSA TO PROACTIVELY GIVE DATA
  • FACEBOOK: CO. GIVES MINIMUM AMOUNT OF INFO FROM GOVT. REQUESTS

Odd, because a few days ago, Zuckerberg said this:

  • Zuckerberg: "Facebook is not and has never been part of any program to give the US or any other government direct access to our servers."

And unless we are very wrong, there is a bit of a difference between "never been part of any NSA program" and "not proactively giving data to the NSA." … So, only unproactively?
