    Ilene: Yes, indeed. The hopey-changey thing. I think what was disappointing and frustrating for those who helped him become President (like me) was that right from the get-go even when his party controlled both houses he was trying to be bipartisan and asking the Republicans for their opinion on everything. They simply do not respect that. They expect to be kicked when they are down. That is how they do business. It wasn’t just on the financial side, for example deciding it was too much of a headache to go after the torturers, that it was too much aggravation to close Guantanamo Bay, caving in to the military industrial complex. However you are right about Wall St. and his financial support, and although his book was entitled Dreams From My Father, the sequel, his memoir of his presidency, will probably be called Seems I’m Like Grannie, his maternal grandmother having been a banker, and a Vice President of the Bank of Hawaii.
