The Rasmussen daily survey (chart below) seems to indicate that the government closure may in fact be helping the Obama administration's approval ratings, while potentially hurting the Republican Party. If the trend continues, the shutdown us unlikely to persist for too long. Here is an interesting take on the subject from The Week.
