AMC Networks to Acquire Chellomedia from Liberty Global for $1.035B
The Deal:
AMC Networks (NASDAQ: AMCX) announced Monday it has agreed to acquire substantially all of Chellomedia from Liberty Media (NASDAQ: LBTYA) for approximately $1.035 billion. The transaction is expected to close in Q1 2014.
AMC Networks closed Monday at $69.90, a loss of $0.46.
Mosaic to Acquire Florida Phosphate Business from CF Industries for $1.2B
The Deal:
The Mosaic Company (NYSE: MOS) announced Monday it has agreed to acquire the phosphate business of CF Industries (NYSE: CF) for $1.2 billion in cash plus $200 million to fund CF Industries’ asset retirement obligation escrow. The business includes the 22,000-acre South Pasture phosphate mine and beneficiation plant in Hardee County, FL., a phosphate manufacturing facility in Plant City, FL., and ammonia terminal and finished product warehouse facilities in Tampa, FL.
The deal is expected to close in H1 2014.
CF Industries closed Monday at $218.36, a gain of 4%.
Report Hedge fund Manager Mark Rachesky Seeking Sale of Loral
The Rumor:
The New York Post reported late Sunday that Loral Space & Communications’ (NASDAQ: LORL) largest shareholder, Mark Rachesky, is looking to place the company up for sale.
Racheskyis, who is Loral’s Chairman and holds a 38% stake, declined comment.
Loral Space & Communications closed Monday at $71.88 Monday, a gain of more than 4%.
