Hi Newbie,
Response from enni_82 is right on money. Your ranking of four options trades from safest to most deadly needs correction as well, but I am not sure you can generalize safety of option trades in this way. Both put or call options can be used to speculate (where they can be "deadly") or to hedge. Most of the trade ideas that Phil endorses are almost always well hedged and not pure speculation.
Wish you well in your options learning experience. You may benefit just reviewing option basics, available on many websites and in introductory section / new member guide section on PSW.
I find this article about Minsk's reseach interesting but lacking in detail. I am going to refer to the link and try to review paper at HBR. I wish economics was not so "hard"..
