The analogy of this law of thermo-dynamics is perhaps as good as the 200-year civilization curve, and yet, it seems we missed the inflection point somewhere recently, and we need to take a detour to get back to where we ought to be. One of the reasons we have a Republic and not a pure democracy is to prevent the citizenry from realizing they can vote for "free stuff" and be rewarded for that vote, assuming that the Nation of abundance has an unending "pot of gold" to tap into. The problem of socialism perhaps was best stated by Margaret Thatcher; "The only problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money to spend," and so the academic theorists fail to comprehend that this house’s roof can only hold so much snow before it caves in. America’s economic prospects have decayed, but are not un-fixable at all, they reality is far too many have gotten fat, dumb, and happy and perpetually pumped full of "euphoric entitlement" I guess was our Think Tank’s phrase of the week. It’s time to get this show back on the road, and get back to doing what America does best. Please think on this.
