Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) will team up with MediaTek development of the Android One platform, that will enable manufacturers to produce low-cost smartphones for a global potential market of one billion users, according to Taiwan supply chain sources, as reported by DigiTImes. The Android One initiative enables smartphone makers to more easily produce affordable devices.
