Dow Jones reported that Tibco Software (NASDAQ: TIBX) has reached out to potential buyers, including some private equity firms.
Tibco has been the subject of rumors in the past, which were ultimately unfounded. On May 28, shares rallied nearly seven percent to $21.33, similar price levels as Wednesday, with the rumor of European tech company SAP looking to perhaps make an acquisition of the company. Similar chatter was evident in early October 2011, as well.
Tibco shares recently traded at $20.67, up 7.1 percent.
