The “Monthly Income Trader” uses option strategies, such as non-directional credit spreads, iron condors, and butterfly options, to generate consistent, monthly income. Our goal is to earn a modest 2% to 8% monthly return on invested capital, using the RUT and SPY indexes specifically. Before initiating trades, we take many indicators into consideration, including the VIX and the Greeks.
We have extensive professional and trading experience–eighteen years of investing and trading experience between us. We have been successfully trading exclusively for income during the past 26 months.
Monthly Income Trader’s strategies assume that you have a working knowledge of options and understand how they work individually and how they work together. Most of the positions we set up have an 80% chance of success under normal market conditions and require minimal monitoring, but are not entirely hands-off.
We treat our income trades like an insurance business where we are basically writing catastrophic insurance on the indexes. As for any insurance company, there is a probability, however small, that once in a while a catastrophe might hit. Therefore, we monitor and readjust, or re-insure, our positions, if an index begins to move with extreme volatility. The goal is to try to never take a catastrophic loss.
