Reserves to Work: Dollar Tree
Courtesy of Paul Price
I put some of our Market Shadow's Virtual Value Portfolio reserves to work this morning in deep discounter Dollar Tree (DLTR) – 65 shares at a price of $46.68 per share.
DLTR has shown outstanding long term growth since 2008. EPS climbed by 260% over the past five years. That record was far superior to the performance of all main competitors at the low, middle and the high ends, including Wal-Mart (WMT), Target (TGT), Kohl’s and Nordstrom (JWN).
The poor jobs report gave us a chance to buy today (Friday, Apr. 5) on a 2.1% down tick from Thursday’s closing quote.
