Shadow – I agree about big oil companies protecting their profits – they have always done so. True, the battery problem persists with solar powered cars – we hope that as electric cars become more widely used, car makers will learn how to make batteries safer or come up with better (environmentally, economically and efficient) ways to power a car, including those you suggested. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/are-electric-cars-safe-in-accidents.htm
