OK, let's keep an eye on our bounce lines – we'll see if we can take out the weak ones into the weekend:

    • Dow 16,600 to 15,700 is 900 so 15,880 (weak) and 16,060 (strong)
    • S&P 1,850 to 1,770 is 80 so 1,786 (weak) and 1,802 (strong)
    • Nas 4,225 to 4,060 is 165 so 4,100 (weak) and 4,133 (strong)
    • NYSE 10,400 to 9,950 is 450 so 10,040 (weak) and 10,130 (strong)
    • RUT 1,180 to 1,120 is 60 so 1,132 (weak) and 1,144 (strong)

XOM finally taking the dip we expected on disappointing earnings.   The last time we looked at those was when they tested $100 and I said:

XOM – They just tested $100, but it held.  We need a pretty spectacular failure in oil for this one to work out at this point but I do want to press our $6K loss into earnings (1/30 – a busy day) by picking up 30 March $95 puts for $1.

Those puts are $3.35 so there's the $6K back and, if you were playing them, you should be thrilled, not greedy and take $10,050 and run and maybe leave $1,000 worth (3-5) with stops at $3.
