Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) shares are trading lower by $6 at $479.79 in Thursday's session. The former growth stock darling of Wall Street will be ending the year below its year-end close in 2014 of $532.78.

It was only a few months ago in October when it made its all time high of $757 following a string of better-than-expected earnings reports.

However, a Q3 miss of $0,02 on lower revenues coupled with multiple E. coli outbreaks across the country have investors abandoning the issue.

Year-end tax selling may be exacerbating the decline as it's trading lower for the fifth consecutive session making a new yearly low at $478.78.
