Covfefe: Trump Challenges You To Figure Out Its “True Meaning”

By Vikas Shukla. Originally published at ValueWalk.

Donald Trump has about 31 million followers on Twitter. The US President certainly knows how to get the attention of every single one of them as well as millions of others on the Internet. When he posted a late night tweet, the Internet went crazy. It was an incomplete sentence containing the word “covfefe.” Neither the tweet nor the word makes any sense. But it’s easy to figure out that he was targeting the media, probably the “Fake News media.”

What the hell is ‘covfefe’, the world wonders

At 12:06 a.m. ET on Wednesday, President Donald Trump tweeted “Despite the constant negative press covfefe.” Yeah, that’s it. Nothing more. What further confused his followers was that he left the sentence midway, and the tweet had been live for hours. Was there no one in the White House to point it out? Anyway, folks on Twitter are having a good time trying to figure out the meaning of “covfefe.”

Before Trump woke up and deleted the tweet, it had garnered more than 130,000 likes and 108,000 retweets. it became one of the most popular tweet Trump had ever posted. He deleted the tweet at 5:50 a.m. ET on Wednesday. Less than 20 minutes later, he sent out another tweet challenging the world to figure out the “true meaning” of the word he had just coined.

Who can figure out the true meaning of “covfefe” ??? Enjoy!

Challenge accepted!

Though the word “covfefe” was most likely a typo for “coverage,” Twitter users drew their own conclusions about its meaning and what Trump intended to say.

Heck, even the domain name covfefe.com was purchased by someone immediately after Trump’s tweet:

Goddamit. Someone already bought #Covfefe.com. Probably the Russians. pic.twitter.com/duRrtb41PO

This one is epic:

And then someone thought we’d need the help of aliens to figure out the true meaning of covfefe:

okay this is the best I’ve got #covfefe pic.twitter.com/CAD8UrP9hI

This user thinks covfefe is the best thing to have happened under Trump presidency:

This hashtag is probably the best thing we’ve gotten out of the Trump presidency so far. #Covfefe pic.twitter.com/Jcr9GoVdZk

There are some more amusing tweets. Some announced that they had finally figured what Bill Murray whispered to Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation. Others thought covfefe referred to the former FBI director James Comey, who was fired by Trump earlier this month. Yet others thought it simply meant “coffee.”

However the Internet interprets the word, one thing is certain: covfefe has united the largely divided USA and everyone is having fun.

Trump used an iPhone to tweet the covfefe post

Donald Trump has used both the iPhone and Android devices in the past. The covfefe tweet was posted from an iPhone. Axios reported last week that the US President was currently using an iPhone

While some Twitter users said the tweet was meaningless and other called it a complete nonsense, loyal Trump fans seem to have liked the newly coined word even as they failed to define what it meant.

Trump has sent out a few more tweets since waking up this morning, and these are his usual rants. He is back to normal!

So now it is reported that the Democrats, who have excoriated Carter Page about Russia, don’t want him to testify. He blows away their….

…case against him & now wants to clear his name by showing “the false or misleading testimony by James Comey, John Brennan…” Witch Hunt!

Kathy Griffin should be ashamed of herself. My children, especially my 11 year old son, Barron, are having a hard time with this. Sick!
