Meanwhile, there’s a lot of stuff going on in the World and the markets and, as of this morning – I’m glad we didn’t cash out (I’ll be finishing the Long-Term Portfolio Review today) but it’s glad in the way you are glad you didn’t give up on your old car as you take a final road trip or those last good days you spend with your dog as you avoid the inevitable last trip to the vet (or “puppy farm” as my parents used to tell us).
The entire future of AI is up in the Air and Trump is meeting with Xi AND the AI Oligarchs next week (yes, they are actually crashing the US/China summit – THAT is how powerful these men are) and who know’s what’s real – before or after then?
As noted in the video and yesterday’s report and Monday’s post – it’s not Frankenstein’s Monster that’s out of control but Dr.s Altman, Amodei, Pichai and Hassabis who, despite ALL the warnings – in search of money, fame, power and glory – have recklessly endangered the village by releasing their creatures – without giving a thought to the damage such unchecked power could cause.
This is, of course, not really different than the Social Media virus they already unleashed on the World a decade ago but that damage is already done and the Internet is no longer free – it’s a place you go to to be sold things and manipulated while your brain slowly liquefies and melts away.
But the real motivations for “control” (or the illusion of it) is to instill the kind of fear in the populations that will let the AI creators keep their top spot with Trump and lock out other competitors – ESPECIALLY from China – who are creating AI that is just as good as ours for 1/100th to 1/1,000th the price (which is currently 10% of our Economy and 40% of our Stock Market).
Trump wants control because he doesn’t like AI that tells him he’s losing in the polls or he lost the 2020 election or, well, that he’s wrong about ANYTHING, really. From the President’s point of view, AI should tell you how great you are and how wonderful your ideas are – the way it used to do 2 years ago – but recent improvements in AI have caused even Grok to question the president’s policies – and his sanity...
The military want’s AI that kills on command, not AGI that questions decisions to bomb schools and, as demonstrated by the anti-woke, anti-DEI and the dismantling of the Department of Education by the World Wide Wrestling Wife – these people are no fans of education – George Calin pointed that out decades ago.

Trump and company are blaming AI for their sliding polls. When people ask AIs about policy, they are presented with FACTS! Imagine that, facts that have not been laundered and approved by the state. Google AI is horrifying to the Administration because, rather than sending you down a rabbit hole of links that are dominated by the highest bidders, Google AI sifts through all the BULLSHIT and gives you a nice, readable summary of the most accurate answer to your question AND it allows follow-up questions.
