So, what's happening today? We've got half a point here, a point and a half there, a little bit here and there across the indexes, and the VIX is down. But it's not really down compared to last week, and that's what you have to remember: everything is relative. When you see the VIX is down 1.3%, you have to compare it to the week before, not the day before. The trend had been well below 18, and now we're above 18, and people are generally getting more nervous.
