Our friend Ted Seides of the Capital Allocators podcast came by to explain what he sees as the two biggest changes this decade for hedge funds. The first seems permanent, the second – well, we shall see. Ted says that the onslaught of competition is not going to reverse, which took away a key advantage that hedge fund managers used to have against the rest of the marketplace. Ultra-low interest rates also thwarted the asset class, given how much of historical returns could be explained by earning a yield on cash.
