Generating a Single AI Image Has a Deep Environmental Cost
There are hidden environmental consequences to AI image generators like Midjourney and Dall-E

A new study released on Friday revealed that generating a single AI image takes as much energy as charging a smartphone, carrying a larger carbon footprint than AI text. Midjourney and ChatGPT’s Dall-E AI image creators could produce more carbon than taking a 4.1 mile drive, the study said.
