Here is this weekend's cover of once-influential Barron's magazine.
Forgive us if we have a chuckle at this cover, although we doubt many other soon-former subscribers of the magazine will be as amused.
Why? The answer comes from April 2, when the same Barron's was out with a piece "explaining" why Alibaba shares "could reach $125."
Barely five months later, the same magazine has cut its "target" from $125 to $30 – a 75% drop – in the process practically accusing the company of fraud.
While we are geateful for the BABA buying greenlight, the above example probably "explains" the following December cover from Barron's.
Guess it wasn't different after all.
