Should you trade on tariff headlines?
Simple decision tree:
Are you running algorithms with keywords in them specifically dedicated toward reacting profitably to the release of news, rumors, lies and other innuendo related to the current trade / tariff / currency war between China and the United States?
Then yes, you should.
If the above does not describe your current situation, then no, you should not.
If you’re confused as to whether or not you’re supposed to be playing this game, it’s likely that you don’t have a financial plan, or a reason – broken out into dollars and cents – as to why you’ve got money at risk in the financial markets in the first place. You may not even know what you’re investing for to begin with. Starting with “Why am I doing this at all?” is a good first step toward building a portfolio.
However, if the answer is “recreation” or “fun”, then by all means, carry on.
